1-2-3 Door Shield® door protectors are manufactured in Denver, Colorado in partnership with a high volume, independent corrugated fiberboard manufacturer. Their manufacturing partner is one of the first independent packaging companies in Colorado to be granted a Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certification.

A Reusable, Cost-Effective Door Protection Solution

The standard version of their patented door protectors consists of two-ply corrugated Kraft board containing an anti-static, abrasion-resistant inner liner that’s designed to protect delicate finishes on construction sites. The end result is a door protector with excellent abrasion resistance that is also recyclable. Furthermore, because the inner liner is static-resistant, dust is not drawn to the finished door face. This composite, heavy-duty pulp paper-based product can effectively protect both sides of a door during and after installation, and it is durable enough for re-use. It is also made from 100% recycled materials and, when it reaches the end of its useful life, it can be recycled.

The unique design of the 1-2-3 Door Shield® door protection system includes a carefully-calibrated series of engineered perforations that allow the product to be precisely and compactly folded for shipping and handling while preventing damage to the protective inner liner. 1-2-3 Door Shield® also features pre-engineered cut outs for door latch and closer hardware, as well as specially-designed saddle tape and edge fasteners that will not adhere to or damage delicate door finishes. The product comes pre-assembled with illustrated bilingual installation instructions printed on the product to ensure the highest level of quality control for the end user.

Protect the doors on your next remodeling or construction site.  The double (or single) corrugated board is fast and easy to install, plus re-usable.  Simply drape and center the Door Shield over the top of the door and it becomes a pre-engineered, reusable door protection system that effectively shields both sides of the door.

There are two primary products in the 1-2-3 Door Shield® door protector product line: The Protector Series and 200 Series Door Shields. Both the Protector Series and 200 Series are pre-assembled and can be easily re-folded and secured for easy transport or storage for re-use. Door Shields are packaged in 5-unit cartons.

Door Shield® Protector Series

The Protector Series is the most durable Door Shield and is the product many commercial builders use to protect vulnerable doors. It is a two-ply pre-engineered product that will withstand in excess of 400 psi of burst pressure.

Door Shield® 200 Series

The 200 Series is a lower cost version of The Protector designed for the residential and home-improvement markets and is currently available only in 3070 and 3080 sizes. It is a one-ply pre-engineered product that will withstand about 200 psi of burst pressure. The Door Shield® 200 Series is packaged in five-pack boxes with sixteen boxes per pallet of 80. The pallet is then corner protected and stretch-wrapped.

Easy Installation Door Protection

The illustration above shows the easy installation of the 1-2-3 Door Shield® door protection system – no tools or special training are required. You can also view our installation video below, which describes 1-2-3 Door Shield® in greater detail and demonstrates the ease of installation and re-use.

Important: ensure that door is clean and dust-free before installing 1-2-3 Door Shield®

Start by removing the product from the storage carton and grasping 1-2-3 Door Shield® by its handholds. Then, simply separate the folded product slightly at the middle and raise it, using your forearms for leverage while centering the connecting “saddle” over the top of the door. Precise centering is important, as this will allow the door to be closed and secured once the 1-2-3 Door Shield® edge fasteners are in place.

Once centered, each side of 1-2-3 Door Shield® can be carefully unfolded

It may be necessary to lower one side, and then swing the door slightly to allow lowering of the opposite side. If door latch hardware has already been installed, 1-2-3 Door Shield® includes breakaway flaps to accommodate lever or thumb latch hardware. If latch hardware has not yet been installed, perforated hardware flaps will allow the hardware to be installed later without removing 1-2-3 Door Shield®. The perforated hardware flaps can be folded back or removed by the hardware installer.

When using 1-2-3 Door Shield® on a door with closer hardware, slit the saddle tape as needed from the hinge side and remove the perforated flaps at the top of the Door Shield. When adapting 1-2-3 Door Shield® for closer hardware, you can slit the saddle tape as much as half the door width from the hinge side without compromising the fit once the hook and loop fasteners are engaged.

Once both sides have been lowered, check again to ensure that 1-2-3 Door Shield® is centered on the door both horizontally and vertically

When properly installed, a gap of about 3/4″ will be visible on the hinge and strike edges of the Door Shield. This small gap will allow the door to be closed and secured without having to remove the Door Shield. Carefully and snugly secure the hook-and-loop edge fasteners on both the jamb and strike edges of the door. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN VELCRO STRAPS.

Installation is complete!
